The Clip: Stop Motion Precedent Two

Her Morning Elegance- Oren Lavie

This music video has been made using stop motion. I think its a great example of showing just how smooth and realistic a stop motion can be if you really focus on the flow of it. I have chosen this stop motion as a precedent for my own work as it works with similar ideas. They way the pants appear on screen and then the top and then the person, it builds up the story which I am doing in my own stop motion except the clothes appear on the person.

The Clip: Inspiration 'A new way of seeing'

The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imaginations. Most people spend their lives in dreary gray-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colors. By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles and furniture and utilizing the latest technologies, I try to show new ways to encourage people to use their fantasy and make their surroundings more exciting.”
                                                                                                                    - Verner Panton

This is a quote I found in the DSDN171 lecture slide today. I think it sums up perfectly the line 'A new way of seeing' which has to be included in our stop motion. Verner Panton really nails it on the head. I really like how he tells us to use our imaginations, especially as my stop motion is something that is unrealistic and can not happen.. yet!

The Clip: Storyboard inspiration

I really like the composition of this and how it has incorporated 2d with 3d. The hands coming out of the photo holding another photo looks very effective. I would quite like to do a similar layout for my storyboard just to create something different, that still tells a story and is clear to read.
